The growth of JPCC over the years is the result of the persistence and determination of believers who stepped out of the comfort zone of 'ordinary' and did the extra mile in living out God's Word to become 'extraordinary'. It was never because of the effort of one individual.

It all started in 1996 with a prayer group of 10 people who hungered and thirst for God and experienced powerful manifestation of the Holy Spirit. They initially named themselves as Jakarta Praise Center – Youth Ministry.

As this community answered its calling to be a contemporary church that actively reached out and served the young people, it was formally established as Jakarta Praise Community Church (JPCC) on 4 July 1999.

Since the beginning the leaders always believe that it's about setting an example, so that the world can see the mighty God who lives in them. With a servant's heart, the leaders are willing to put themselves at the lowest priority in order to serve others.
